Amela Duheric is the founder of Nightingale Music. She is a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who has been passionately involved in music for most of her life. Her musical journey began in primary school when she started playing the piano and flute, then after receiving a scholarship in the Music Excellence program in high school, Amela quickly became passionate about learning as much as she could about music, joining the choir, school musical, school ensemble and string ensemble. Amela started writing songs in grade ten and was spotted on YouTube by an American manager, this is when her career in music really began.
She went on to complete her Bachelor of Music degree at the Queensland University of Technology, majoring in performance and songwriting, and was a front woman of indie-folk band The Forty Thieves and indie-rock band Malo Zima. During her studies she also completed an internship with QMusic, during which she worked at the Queensland Music Awards and Bigsound Music Conference. Amela began teaching in 2011 and has since worked at various schools on the Gold Coast, and carried out vocal workshops with musical groups such as the Deep Blue Orchestra.
She is an active performer and was nominated this year for the Gold Coast Music Awards as Artist of the Year for her contribution to the industry as well as her involvement in teaching on the Gold Coast. Amela has recently completed her Masters degree in Vocal Pedagogy and is passionate about sharing her knowledge in music and the industry with her students.

"I'm excited to share the skills I have with some eager students, I like to keep the focus on playing music and using the songs we want to play as a vehicle to learn the theoretical side of music"
